Hair Loss Shampoo -- Does It Really Work?
If you're experiencing excessive hair loss, then you're probably seeking the most inexpensive and simple solution available to treat the problem. Have you seen advertisements for hair loss shampoo? If so, you might be quite interested. After all, it's a quite alluring thought that one can reverse hair loss simply by shampooing their hair. However, the reality of the situation might be disappointing.
In the case of hair loss caused by genetics, hormonal imbalances, medications or illness, shampoo won't work to replace your hair. There is one exception, however, and that's Rogaine. Rogaine isn't really a shampoo, but more of a lotion that's topically applied to the scalp. Rogaine comes in Regular and Extra Strength, and can help both men and women regrow hair. You can try Rogaine for yourself for only around $29 for a month's supply, and find it in the hair care aisle of your local supermarket or drugstore.
If your hair loss is caused by damage due to styling, then it's possible that the right shampoo can help strengthen your hair and prevent further breakage. When shopping for a shampoo to strengthen your hair, look for formulas designed for damaged or extra dry hair. Nourishing ingredients like panthenol, protein and essential oils can help fortify your hair strands and even provide a thicker appearance. And don't forget the conditioner! If your hair is falling out from heat styling, hair dye or other style-related reasons, a deep conditioning treatment applied once a week can work wonders. You may also want to use a daily leave-in conditioner to add extra protection.
There are some hair loss shampoo choices that you'll find in health food stores and online. They claim to help stimulate hair growth with their all-natural ingredients. While it's important to understand that shampoo simply can't reverse some causes of baldness, it can't hurt to give it a try. Often the herbs and oils in these shampoos work by stimulating blood flow to the scalp and clearing blocked follicles, thus encouraging hair growth. They may also work like shampoos for damaged hair do, by replenishing the hair's nutrients and strengthening the strands.
